For classical singer Carly Paoli the last three years have been breathtaking. Following on from her success in 2014 performing at the ‘The International Women’s Media Foundation’ (IWMF) Awards in Los Angeles, hosted by Hollywood actress Kate Hudson, she was invited by HRH The Prince of Wales to sing at a concert in Windsor Castle.

In May 2016, Carly was honoured by the decision of the Vatican to adopt her song ‘Ave Maria’ to be the official song for Pope Francis’ ‘Jubilee for Mercy Celebrations. Her single, 'Ave Maria' rapidly became a No1 hit in the iTunes Charts in UK, Italy, Singapore and Malaysia. This led to a stunning concert in the ancient ‘Roman Forum,’ entitled ‘Music for Mercy.’ Carly performed 8 songs during the concert, including a duet with Andrea Bocelli and her own title track ‘A Time for Mercy,’ (also available on iTunes.) Elaine Paige and ‘The Tenors’ were among the many prestigious artists that took part and the event was screened live on Italian TV channel Rai Uno.

Carly is no stranger to performing in remarkable venues. In July 2015 she headlined a spectacular concert in conjunction with the ‘Teatro Dell’Opera di Roma’ and UNICEF at the historic ‘Terme Di Caracalla’ in Rome. Carly hosted the event and was joined by special guests including the celebrated tenor Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, American soprano Cynthia Lawrence and British tenor Russell Watson. ‘Caracalla’ is the summer home of the ‘Rome Opera Company’ and provided the spectacular backdrop for the first Three Tenors concert in 1990.

The night was a huge success for Carly and she was asked to perform again with Andrea Bocelli and conductor Zubin Mehta at the Fight Night Gala in Florence where she was given a standing ovation for her performance with Bocelli. In April 2016 she sang in Phoenix, Arizona at the Celebrity Fight Night Gala to raise money for the Parkinson Foundation. This was to be the last public appearance by Muhammed Ali the founder of the charity. Carly shared the stage with Carrie Underwood and Reba McIntyre and sang with David Foster - multi Grammy award winning producer - accompanying her on the piano.

In October 2015, Carly was given standing ovations after performing at New York's Carnegie Hall and Boston's Jordan Hall supported by the Korean Chamber Orchestra.

October 2016 saw Carly sing at the O2 Arena – her first major appearance in the UK. As a special guest of Andrea Bocelli as part of his ‘Cinema’ tour, she sang a varied programme of opera and her own songs. She also sang two duets with Bocelli and their performance of ‘Time to Say Goodbye,’ drew a standing ovation from an enthralled audience.

On December 26th, Carly will return to Rome to headline ‘La Dolce Vita.’ This concert devoted to Italian cinema music will also feature Giovanni Caccamo.

To complete Carly’s journey so far she is delighted to release her new single ‘My Christmas Dream is You’ written and produced by Romano Musumarra. Profits from the single will benefit the Manchester based children’s charity ‘When you Wish Upon a Star’ for children with life threatening illnesses of which Carly is patron. Carly recorded the video for the single with a group of children currently being helped by the charity and Father Christmas made a surprise visit!

My Christmas Dream is You’ is available for download on iTunes and all digital platforms. Profits from the single will go to the charity ‘When you Wish Upon a Star’. The single will be followed by Carly’s first album, being recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. She is working with Don Black (Born Free, Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever) and multi Grammy award winning Walter Afanasieff who have written and composed songs for the album. It is due for release in March 2017.
